What: Taking part in meaningful recreation also has many benefits, both for personal quality of life and for the community you are a part of.
ElderActive is a growing not-for-profit organization in the Yukon that strives to enhance the lives of all 55+ Yukoners through recreation designed to develop and maintain health and wellness in body, mind, and spirit. We hope to see a Yukon where all older adults have opportunities to be active in recreational activities that lead to an enhanced quality of life.

Exercise Services- YHLP
What: Yukon Healthy Living Program. Yukoners with chronic conditions can access free exercise services. After an initial assessment, the clinical exercise specialist will:
recommend available exercise services; and
outline strategies that’ll help improve your fitness and health.
This service includes:
risk screening and activity plan development;
supervised group exercise classes;
virtual exercise classes; and
exercise routine development. This includes recommendations on how to stay safe while being active and exercising.

Handy Bus
What: The Handy Bus provides accessible and safe transportation to people who are unable to use standard transit services.
Times:
From Monday to Friday, Handy Bus service is available from 6:35 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On Saturdays and Sundays, service is provided to Yukoners who have made bookings prior to 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Service is available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Who: Those who apply and meet their criteria which is available on their website.
